Restoring Honor

August 29, 2010 by Vicki

I spent part of yesterday watching the Restoring Honor rally on C-SPAN. It was spearheaded by Glenn Beck with whom I don’t always agree. Sometimes he scares the living daylights out of me. Sometimes he brings things to my attention that I’m inspired to research on my own. He always makes me think. And that’s not a bad thing. In fact, he’s said several times on his show that he wants people to research what he’s said on their own and make their own decisions!

The liberal media has tried their level best to prove yesterday’s rally was nothing more than a racist Tea Party event. Oh, yes? That would explain why so many different people from so many different ethnic backgrounds attended and spoke. And the liberal media also talks about the hatred & bigotry of the conservatives. I consider myself more Center-Right than completely Right, but I know plenty of people on the Right, and you know what? Most of the hatred & bigotry I’ve seen has come from the Left.

If you happen to watch CBS, you’ll have heard that only about 87,000 people showed up for the rally yesterday. They are liars, or at least very sadly mistaken. Try hundreds of thousands. The most conservative estimate I heard was 350,000 but there was much speculation that the actual count was 500,000 to one million attendees. If you take a look at this picture from the rally, you can see how many people were there and it’s well over CBS’ estimate. If you’ll look closely in the upper right corner, you can see the crowd reaches all the way to the Potomac. And all those people cleaned up after themselves and left the Mall spotless!!!

When the event is available on DVD, I will definitely be buying a copy and I know many others who will as well. It was that inspiring.

The number of people tired of the lying, backstabbing, and sniping of our elected officials is growing. And we will not be silent. We ARE the People. And we want to restore honor and integrity to our government.

Right now when I think of the Government, I don’t think of Honor. I think each person elected has their own personal agenda and if the people who voted that person into office don’t like it, or were unaware of it-they’re stuck. I’m glad you found someone who makes you think.

  2. Dru says:

I like that he made you think. I don’t agree with him, but some of what he said, did make me think. I just wish government was about the people instead of how high a politician can climb.
